That BoS bond WILL NOT rescue your goods from wharfsides or shipping lines if they go bust.

And checkout their IEBSSSC bond in Delaware - doesn't exist..

We have used Excess International since we had problems with a couple of others on previous moves. Excellent heplful service.

Whoever you use make sure that they are BAR Overseas/FIDI FAIM bonded...

You need the BAR Overseas Bond - not the domestic one - anything else is not worth the paper it's written on - trust me, I have moved 16+ times internationally.

This excludes people like 7 Seas,...

I am not as stupid as you think I am. When shipments are strung out across the world it's a different story - and it didn't help my sister-in-law who was a customer of Cargo Forwarding a few years...

Stuck on the wharf somewhere - happened with a cheapo operator called Cargo forwarding a few years back - took people 3 years to get their stuff back in some cases.

Even if they are taken over, 1000s of shipments will be stuck on docksides everywhere.

You may well be asked to pay again by destination agents.

cheapest isn't always best...

be wary of operators that are the cheapest of the cheap - there's a reason for it...

Don't - loads of their shipments are already stuck around the world because shipping lines haven't been paid by their overseas subsidiaries...

Make sure you use a BAR OVERSEAS/FIDI-FAIM Bonded company... Not sure that Pickfords were. Hundreds will get caught out with this.

Excess Baggage Company have counters in all the terminals at Heathrow and Gatwick - we paid about £2.50kg I think and they also have sea freight if you're not in a hurry

we used Excess International Movers - www.australia-removals.com and they came in at a little over £3k for a 20 feet shipment. They also use Grace in Australia which made me happier :-)
