Re: NZ Savings Accounts for Foreigners

Thank you all for your helpful replies.

It seems that many of you feel the NZ$ is going to weaken against the US$. Can you share why you feel this to be true? I personally think the US$ is about...

Re: Housing prices

Housing prices in desirable Texas neighborhoods are not falling.

In my non-expert opinion, the US$ will continue to fall and the housing and equity markets will continue to rise in direct...

Re: Housing prices

I have done further research to give you the exact picture.

http://www.zillow.com/HomeDetails.htm?zprop=29389145

The home is renting for $1,700 or is also for sale for $525,000. It is not in...

Re: Housing prices

Renting in Texas makes more sense than in other places due to the state's heavy reliance on property taxes (in Austin, you are taxed approximately 2.5% of your home's appraised value).

Re: Fresh seafood cost in Auckland

I calculate that lobster is $12.44 USD per pound which is better than the $15.99 I pay in Austin for the live variety.

From what I have read, the NZ variation is sweeter, and therefore thought to...

Re: Fresh seafood cost in Auckland

Thank you, cottageinthesky, for the information from Wellington. I probably should not have been so restrictive with the initial request.

Kindest regards,

Re: Not Emigrating now, research books for sale!!

Exactly the reason you should consider the SlingBox.

If I do leave the US, I will absolutely be giving a friend or family member a SlingBox and a monthly subsidy to keep me connected to all of...

Re: Not Emigrating now, research books for sale!!

A SlingBox and the Internet should give anyone the opportunity to watch the same programming that they would receive in their home city/country - from anywhere else in the world.

Granted, this may...

Re: Theory of Money & Credit OR What Gov'ts & Central Bankers Don't Want You To Know!

Re: Theory of Money & Credit OR What Gov'ts & Central Bankers Don't Want You To Know!

That link may be 100% accurate but its forecast is still, to me, an acceptable "loss" in markets that have rapidly appreciated over the past several years.

When articles, for instance, discuss...

Re: Theory of Money & Credit OR What Gov'ts & Central Bankers Don't Want You To Know!

I assure you that the price of land and housing in Austin is not falling.
