Just for the record, I've met at least 2 Aussies and 1 Italian guy with full CA DL without taking the test - just some sort of "conversion".

Again seems like there is no consistency when it comes...

Good idea.

Another funny comment that I've received is that "some" DMV offices do accept overseas licenses to issue a new CA one! you just have to find the right one....:thumbdown:

Thanks so much for the reply. I used to be on the E-3 visa, left my job 30 days ago and return on VWP to look for another job. SoI guess technically this is considered as a new issuance. Isn't it?
