Hi folks,
I'm in the US at the moment and expect to stay here for at least another 18 months. Sadly I've lost my NSW D/L and seems like my international license is no longer valid without the original license!
Any ideas on how to get a NSW license while overseas (from RTA?)? I think the big challenge is that my current residency address is in California and not NSW!
Thanks in advance

Aren't you supposed to have a USA drivers licence if living in the United States?

Thanks JAJ.
I've yet to get a US one and still driving on my international license (which is valid only if you show the original one too).
The RTA asks for some sort of proof of residence! I no longer stay in NSW though! that's the catch.
Your thoughts?
Cheers

You are allowed to drive on International driving license and you have been told that on US threads. Anyway, I am not sure why you need AUS license but I do know that US license is recognised in Australia. When you head back to Australia, you can got to local DMV and with a valid CA license (and they would have a record that you held NSW license) you will be issued NSW license right away....

You might be able to get a certificate of competency (or similar) from RTA sent to your local DMV?

I thought D/L was an acronym for Dear Lover.
No worries, I'll move on.
