I am not sure what the population of Cairns is, probably around a couple of hundred thousand at the high end?

If America are struggling I am sure we would struggle with the huge distance involved...

Hi, I was just wondering if you all stay on the net/phone etc during a storm like tonight's? We always turn the computer off and unplug everything not essential as a precaution and thought everybody...

Have you looked in to the cost of surface mail for parcels rather than airmail?

Another option might be to use the excess baggage people at the airport, they might be expensive but it is airmail....

Actually I think what I heard was the fed gov would stop taxing pro rata if it got to $1.50.

The obvious choice would be an internet cafe. Depending on how much you use the internet though it would be best to buy a laptop which is what we did and sign up with Hypermax who do really cheap...

The price of petrol here is really out of hand. It has got to the point where I am walking most places and keeping the car for the longer journeys which we should all do anyway.
