Sounds like you had a great time with your Dad & FIL and that's what it's all about at the end of the day - spending time with our loved ones can give a lot more joy than sitting in our huge mansions...

Thanks for the info - I've made a few changes and raised some costs, lowered others and added the cost of car insurance and car tax as I had forgotton about those. I've ended up at about 2400 quid...

I know what you mean - my Mum gets dirt cheap calls to Aus from the UK provided she stays on no longer than an hour - she nearly always gets to 59:59 on the phone counter!! :D

Thanks Rebs - I'm happy to pay the extra few quid for the quarterly arrangement. It will be a refreshing change to watch decent TV once we are back in the UK - the stuff in Aus is mind-numbing...
