Is PR Card Linked to Passport?

Hi - I applied for PR and then landed on a British passport to activate. I have since applied for my Irish passport.

Does anyone know if travelling with just the Irish passport would cause...

Re: Ontario car insurance - UK experience not being recognised

Not at all, car insurance in Ontario is completely different matter. Plenty of companies here will take in to account UK history and our premiums are tiny compared to Ontario.

Re: Working in US for Canadian Company

Well it is kind of unknown for the company and myself. I guess the above deals with how it affects my PR status whereas you are stating from the perspective of am I allowed to work in the US...

Re: Working in US for Canadian Company

Really appreciate the response - thanks.

I think I would meet all the requirements EXCEPT "the assignment is controlled from the head office of a Canadian business or public institution in Canada"...

Working in US for Canadian Company

Hey - recently been speaking with a company about a possible employment opportunity.

The job is a consultant position and is home based aside from when you need to be on a client site, about 25%...

Re: Skype Interview tips

I agree on this. I had a Skype interview I did while staying in a Docklands hotel in London. I just put a shirt on and didn't even tuck it in and had jeans on. During the interview the noise from the...

Re: Instant Coffee

We have a Nespresso and yes I think it is the best pod system there is. Problem is ours is a UK unit and still not got round to getting the huge transformer it requires, 1500W I believe.

Instant...

Re: Car bomb drinks / donuts

Well it's called an Irish Car Bomb in most places I have seen it and involves Irish beer and spirits so I do find it offensive. I recall being out one night and when people heard where I was from...

Hey - I am travelling from Calgary to Las Vegas next week and was just completing my ESTA application when something strange happened. As I started entering payment information the session timed out...

Re: Buying a car - advice needed please

That sounds like a terrible discount IMO. Admittedly I have only purchased 2 vehicles here but both I negotiated 10% of the sticker price. Also is it really such a good deal? I did a search on Kijiji...

Re: Triazolam - serious questions

I also had benzos before laser eye surgery. I wasn't particularly anxious about it but was casually offered them and thought why the heck not. Super chilled throughout and few hours after.

If you...

Re: Help me pick a car please.....

I drive both in winter so feel qualified to say it is not essential to have AWD. A FWD with good snow tires is fine. Saying that - the AWD is the easiest to drive in the conditions so if not...

Re: Help me pick a car please.....

Surely it would be worth looking in to a 12 month lease take over vs having to consider driving about in a Kia Rondo :p

Re: Help me pick a car please.....

Kudos to all the bale shifters - I grew up on a farm and recall the effort all too well - especially the requirement for the gloves and long sleeves lol

Re: Help me pick a car please.....

They do when they need a larger family vehicle than a car and of course they are going to apply the same principles of what they like as much as possible. Most people do not have A6 Avant money and...

Re: Help me pick a car please.....

OK and respect for the 87 LC - you are qualified :) Yes the 4Runner has been smoothed out and refined over the years but a very different vehicle to a Dodge Caravan. I chose 4Runner on purpose - I...

Re: Help me pick a car please.....

Even if you are only allowed to go 100km some people like getting to 100 faster lol. I do agree that having more power is more fun on the bendy country roads rather than just straight line driving. ...

Re: Help me pick a car please.....

Yes I would also consider an estate (a4 all-road comes to mind) to fill the same need though again slightly on the small side for us but not wanting or needing a small bus.

Re: Help me pick a car please.....

Now come on - that just isn't true. The 4Runner has always been quite an accomplished off-roader - body-on-frame, high clearance, locking diff and terrain management system and has skid plates so...

Re: Help me pick a car please.....

Wow - has no idea they had so much space :D However in my situation we don't need that much space but do want more than a car so an SUV does make sense.

I also personally prefer the styling of a...

Re: Help me pick a car please.....

I thought the Ridgeline was body on frame? Which would make it more truck like in its nature than car and SUV like :)

Re: Help me pick a car please.....

This is where I see it being less illusion and an actual tangible difference between an MPV and and SUV - any MPV I have been in felt soft and wallowy through corners. Like driving a mini bus whereas...
