Car bomb drinks / donuts
Is it just me that finds the naming of cocktails / donuts after car bombs totally reprehensible?
Seems to be a growing thing this year.

Yes, calling a drink a car bomb is offensive, considering that dozens of people are killed by them nearly every day. young people can be totally tactless.

Question is...would I not drink one out of protest? I don't naturally gravitate towards cocktails anyway, I'm more of a cider or wine girl..

I remember drinks where a shot glass of something was dropped in a pint glass and that was called a 'depth charge'.
Don't recall anyone get upset about that.

I think it should be almost mandatory for young people to be offensive.
Stephen Fry's words on the matter:
“It's now very common to hear people say, 'I'm rather offended by that.' As if that gives them certain rights. It's actually nothing more than a whine. 'I find that offensive.' It has no meaning; it has no purpose; it has no reason to be respected as a phrase. 'I am offended by that.' Well, so ****ing what."
To the OP: No offence intended.

Nonsense. If you encourage docility in young people, you end up with... well, Canada.

With regard the depth charge I suppose it's because it's not "glamorisong"

Of course there is, it stops adults from getting complacent and reminds them that the world doesn't revolve around them and their sense of what's right or wrong.

Ok, fair comment, though personally I remain in the "kids should avoid being offensive" camp. Plenty of time when they get older, IMO. At which point Stephen Fry's rule kicks in.

There is a drink called an Irish Car Bomb. But it is not new this year, it has been around for ages.
