Re: IRS Annual Average Exchange Rate

I looked today as well without luck. The problem with the Treasury rate is it has always been higher than the IRS average, often by several cents. Over the last few years I have found that the...

Re: UK Passport Renewal - Issue with Photos

I had problems getting my photo accepted last time I renewed. Turned out it was because the light was not even across my face. Once I got an even light source it was OK.

Re: Applying for a UK Pension. I am missing information.

The information they have is on the DWP system gathered from information when you lived and worked in the UK. At a guess the "wrong" address you gave was not the last address they had on record.

Re: Entering US on UK passport as US citizen

Have your US passport couriered overnight to you. Might well be quicker than getting an appointment at Citizen Services at the US Embassy.

Re: Traveling to UK Use American or British Passport ?

You can't apply for an ETA if you have British nationality. The online form does not allow you to select British as a second nationality. Carry both, I have my US passport on my airline profile and...

This is a picture from today's Daily Telegraph, and was supposedly taken at a store in New York. Thought Pret and Mortgage was bad enough when I worked at Heathrow.

There is a post in the comments section of that article, which if correct, sheds light on the current situation. Quoted below.

Re: Social Security Fairness Act and elimination of WEP for expats

Nothing at all, other than the generic email saying end of March for refund and April for new payment. I pay estimated quarterly taxes and without the information I can't "estimate" the payments.

Re: Social Security Fairness Act and elimination of WEP for expats

When I was working and in regular contact with US Embassy staff in London, I've seen BE on the computer screens in the USCIS section there.
