I've just received a lump sum from SSA, which I presume is for previous WEP reductions.
It's heartening to see the SSA making progress, despite all the bad publicity about the US administration.
I was concerned earlier this year, as my monthly payments had gone down rather than up. This could have been due to an unfavourable movement in the exchange rate, but I don't receive any monthly dollar figures, so couldn't check this.
I don't have a US phone number or address, so registering with ID.me fills me with dread.
Is there any other way of finding the monthly dollar amount?

Don’t they send every SS recipient an annual statement? That should be in US dollars.
That statement will be sent next year, and have NO monthly figures.

I've just received a letter from SSA about the WEP payments that were reimbursed.
They gave the dollar amount I was reimbursed, and the monthly dollar amount I would be paid in future, but not my total monthly allowance.
Apart from COLA documents, they have always given the amount being paid, without any details of amounts taken from my total monthly allowance.
Is there any reason why they avoid giving you the information to check if you are receiving the correct amount, particularly that for WEP?
Apart from this, I have been happy with the service I have received from SSA.
Do they have a good reputation in terms of not making mistakes in payments?
I don't have a US address or phone number, and so would find it difficult to go through the process to get details of my SSA account.
If they have a good reputation, I would be tempted to forego checking that my payments were correct.

In general SS gets it right, but of course occasional mistakes can be made. In any case I suspect you would have a massive uphill battle to argue they were wrong, unless you had a personal official record of WEP deductions over the years. I would take it as the bonus that it is, and assume it is correct.

I didn't receive notification until a few weeks after the rebate was paid.
Previously, I've seen a post saying that the WEP payments may take up to November before being actioned.
I found out a way of making a check on my benefit.
The only time I was given an amount without any deductions, was in an eligibility letter prior to taking any payments.
I applied the COLA increases for the succeeding years.
This resulted in a figure about $3 different to the monthly amount they said I would receive in future.
So that's a huge commendation for the SSA.
