It seems in most cases if the fund is sizeable it is worth bringing over and then, if you have more than $A500k it is worth considering a self managed super fund.

The advice I just recieved by telehone from an IR Tax Supper expert was if fund remained in the UK for 10 years and then I returned to UK that there would be no tax.

Tax only occurs on payment...
