You will get around 60-70% of ur last salary if you sign on, this lasts about 12 months after that u will get a massive reduction if u qualify for a special benefit cant remember what its called tho.

Well if your with Barclays im sure that they can sort something out for you as they have quite a few branches in Paris, thats if your in Paris... so try them out, Barclays is a normal high street...

We had our car damaged by massive hail stones in Spain a few years ago, we had to go to the police so that they would declare it officially a natural disaster.

Our insurance in France covered all...

Well im not very technically minded Mark, but the voltage is different to what it is in the UK, and also ur TV must be able to decode 'SECAM'which is the standard in France. So if ur TV is compatible...

Just putting in my penny's worth, but don't forget aswell that to live and work in France u will need what they call a 'carte de séjour' this card can be obtained by applying to ur local police...
