Trouble transferring funds from UK

We have been out of the UK for 10yrs and have no UK bank account.

We are about to inherit a lump sum, which we planned on bringing over with a forex transaction.

This is interesting, I have just spoken to another friend who is on 457 and applying for PR whose son is at school with my son. She has been told he cannot have a LUI number because he is on 457.

See what I mean about officialdom not knowing!!! She definately said there were problems in him getting his QCE points because of his visa.

I just don't ask the question anymore, the school sees...

I can always hope I suppose!

In the meantime the plan is to wait 1yr, by which time hubby will have been in his new job 1yr (even tho he will be 45), I will have hopefully secured a permanent...

Oh and I forgot to add my daughter recently suffered from an incredibly rare (in kids) medical condition, which was life threatening. This we are pretty sure (pending blood tests) successfully...

Yep I know I can't convert in the technical sense, was just using the word cause we are already here and on 444, meaning there are other options such as ENS and state spons etc.

PR won't work for...

The 444 visa is a funny one indeed. We are on it and very grateful for it, esp as we may have missed the boat for converting it to PR (over 45, recent job changes blah blah). We love it here and...

Agreed, I moved to Brisbane with the same attitude and desire to 'fit in' as I had when we moved to NZ. The reception was however VERY different, Ozzies are very much more relaxed about the whole...

I was very interested in your statement 'may not need to do a skill assessment for ENS'.

My husband could apply for ENS but as he turns 45 in June is very put off by the skill assessment...

Hi

This is prob one for an agent, I am trying to work out how many points my Australian nursing degree is worth?

Its an undergraduate degree from a Qld uni, 3 yrs of study Bachelor of Nursing...
