RRV - A thread for all questions and suggestions....

Hi. Wonder if anyone can help me? I (and my family) have Permanent Resident visas. These were granted in 2007, we validated them in 2008, and they expire in a month or so. We are still living in the...

Hi everyone

I've just validated my PR visa, and will be making the permanent move within the next year hopefully - when the house sells!

Re: Intercontinental Taxation

Thanks for the replies. Have I opened a can of worms?

I just want to make sure that, once I've paid tax on earnings in WA, I won't then have to pay any UK tax on any money I might transfer...

Intercontinental Taxation

Hi everyone

Validating visas at the end of next week. Would be nice to move out quickly, but our house has a minor subsidence problem. Monitoring has taken two years so far, but there are...

Re: Validation

Maybe, if we get time. I'll be popping in on a few engineering agencies, and there's my brother to visit, plus some acquaintances from Northants (hopefully it won't be too cold or wet for a barbie)....

Validation

Hi

Not posted on here for a while. Granted visas in June 2007, with Initial Entry Date of 3rd May 2008. To cut a long story short, my father died of lung cancer in this period, and we did not...

Re: Visa Stickers/Renewing Passports

Well - finally sent my daughters' old passports off to be renewed last Thursday. Replacements (and originals with stickers) were delivered this morning (Wednesday). A weekend inbetween, and coming...

Re: Visa Stickers/Renewing Passports

Thanks Trish. The £1 per minute for the High Commission brings me out in a cold sweat (and a colder sweat for the £1.50/min for the UK Passport Service)!!

Cheers

Visa Stickers/Renewing Passports

Hi

Have already had Visa stickers placed in UK Passports, and we are looking to validate the Visas next February.

Our daughters' UK Passports expire a few months after that, so we need to get...

Re: Visa evidencing/ new passports etc

Still scratching my head a bit....

Visa grant email says:

"The visa holder can have evidence of the visa placed into their passport..." That "can have" makes it sound optional?!

It...

Re: Medicals

Everything itemised - search here on Medicals and Handsworth Wood and you should get recent prices. Allow £200 per person and you won't be far off.

Alternative is fly out to Prague and get them...

Re: Medicals

We used Handsworth too, and we live 65 miles away. £800 inc VAT for 3 adults and 1 aged 14. X Rays are done on site too, unlike some other places, where the radiology unit is separate.

For...

Visa evidencing/ new passports etc

Visas were granted last month, and I'm just getting round to getting them evidenced. We've got to validate by May 08, so we'll be making a validation trip around Feb 08. Permanent move will probably...

Re: An Aboriginal day today

As a comparison, Hindus in the UK can look to India to see that their culture is doing well, Muslims can look to Iran, Saudi Arabia to see that there can be sovereign Muslim states etc.

Where does...

Re: An Aboriginal day today

I suspect a lot boils down to what it means to be Aboriginal.

Being black is not the whole story, I think there is much more to do with heritage - this being languages, and a nomadic way of life,...
