I think this is wrong : you cannot choose any rate you want.

The BOE gives the official rates taken on last day of the year and you have to use them.

Yes I've seen this on some lawyer websites. Hard to know if there's something in it or if they are trying to scare people into contracting them.

It would likely be illegal for Hacienda to do this,...

I do both the Modelo 720 and DeclaraciÃ³n de la Renta myself.

The argument that it's penny-wise and pound-foolish to do Modelo 720 or the DeclaraciÃ³n de la Renta yourself doesn't necessarily hold...

What an absolute disgrace....but politicians will do anything for power, as we know.

The UK equivalent would be a Labour + Sinn Finn coalition (+ 5 or 6 other basket case parties) - an absurdity....
