Re: marry on VWP

Re: The President's Bulge

Really though.. do you think Bush is capable of listening to Kerry & the moderator, talking and answering,...

Re: marry on VWP

I agree.. my fiance and I were going to get married on the vwp but decided against it. I realize most marriages get through, but I'm not willing to take that chance. I'd rather wait 4-9 months for...

Re: Presidential Debate #3 ... how did they do?

Re: Presidential Debate #3 ... how did they do?

Re: Presidential Debate #3 ... how did they do?

I think it's safe to say Bush is not a good speaker when he doesn't have a script (not that he is much then either). I have enjoyed this debate more than the first as they're hitting on a couple more...

Re: reporting visa fraud?

I don't know how often the CIS presses charges; I think they usually just deport the fiancé/spouse. I've read though that the American can be fined up to $250,000 and could face prison term. I'm...

Re: Dual Nationality Question (UK/US)

Don't quote me on this, but I believe the UK is one of the few countries the US allows dual citizenship. It may be an option, that you elect to retain your UK citizenship, but I'm pretty sure it's...

Re: If you could choose, what would it be?

I only seem to watch BBC America on Thursdays now.. I love Little Britain, and when there's nothing else on a couple episodes of the Flying Circus are always good.

I love the Young Ones, though...

Re: Buying a house in the US

That's really cool, he was working as a correspondant lender then which is actually better than working with either a broker or a lender--you get someone who can work with you without selling you to...

Re: Getting married soon...

My thoughts exactly :) If our visa endeavours do not work out (god forbid) we've discussed buying a yacht and just sailing around the world!

Re: Buying a house in the US

[QUOTE=Englishmum]

Right like I said, a lot of lenders are going to have different rules, and the one I happen to work with will require them. Basically you're dealing with private organizations...

Re: Buying a house in the US

I work in real estate, mortgages to be exact. You're right, there really isn't that much of a difference in the markets, just the UK market is obviously more expensive right now. My fiance marvels at...

Re: Marriage

My fiance and I were considering going this route. We were even advised by an immigration attorney that it's easier to just get married on the visa waiver program then change status. However, I've...

Re: Getting married soon...

Mmm, and it's funny; before I met him I wouldn't have thought of picking up and moving but now as long as I'm guaranteed to be with him I'd do anything. I love the idea of starting out new and...
