..to a wonderful Englishman as soon as his visa is approved. I'm worried, however, that once he moves here (though I'm sure we'll be in each other's pocket for many months!) he will get homesick.

Does anyone know of any clubs or something social for British Americans living in southeastern Pennsylvania?

Mmm, thanks for the suggestion--I've already tried that and the closest meetup group to us is still a half hour away and only has one member who hasn't checked the website in a while it looks like

I know of two guys that can get him into an intermural soccer league, so that will at least be something to interest him.

Half hour away, your laughing, my nearest is about 2.5hrs away, and there's only a couple people signed up, but it looks like more people turn up to the events arranged than join up to the site, most likely can't be arsed to arrange things themselves...me included if everyone else is that far away

Well that's a good point. We'll see I suppose, I signed up--maybe he or she will notice Like you say it could be worse. Evenutally once he gets his greencard we talk of moving to Baltimore. It's only an hour and a half away but a world of difference from where I live now.

Aye, all depends on where the jobs are don't it, we're heading off anywhere the jobs will take us, probably out in Mass or Cali...

Mmm, and it's funny; before I met him I wouldn't have thought of picking up and moving but now as long as I'm guaranteed to be with him I'd do anything. I love the idea of starting out new and learning everything all over again with him. It's a new adventure.

He works with computers so I'm sure he won't have too much difficulty finding a job, but the more to choose from the better. I work in mortgages, and in my small town the jobs are limited.

Also, living in a bigger more cosmopolitan area keeps your mind active. No offense to Americans, I am one after all.. but they're pretty stupid. I recently explained to a friend that Oxford is not a country, but a town in England. I overheard her tell someone that my fiance wasn't English because he was from Oxford.

Yeah, market town, had a mate from there, bit cheaper than Oxford, better value for money that's for sure

Well when I was there last week, I didn't see much of it.. we got home so late every night. I didn't get to see much of Oxford either unfortunately, but we did have lunch one day at a pub just outside Oxford called the Trout Inn
