Jason,
You will need Permanant Residency to apply to the Police.
For Queensland you will also need a First Aid Cert and a Bronze Medallion Lifesaving, so start lookng into those now.

Why do you need an ECG?.

Phone you local Police HQ and get them to send you forms for the Police checks, you then need to send them off. We got ours back in about 3 weeks.

You still need PR.
In WA you have to start at the bottom, 26 weeks at training school and then you must complete certain competencies to gain promotion through...

Thanks chew, I will look into this although my wife is a hairdresser and we are applying for permanent residency. She Has been approved by TRA, and our apps have gone off so now its the waiting game.
