Unworkable and unreasonable indeed. But such behaviour is not unknown from tax authorities! Their universal attitude is - you are guilty until proven innocent, so prove your innocence, or else pay...

Yes indeed, I feel cheated and lied to by Malaysia and I'm very angry about it. What they've done has hugely disrupted my life here and wrecked a lot of plans for the future - like moving to another...

With Malaysia suddenly taxing Foreign Remittances, and Thailand giving them an exemption - it's a no brainer.

On another angle - what if you use a foreign credit card to pay for day to day expenses and the charges on the credit card are settled at the foreign...
