Default Best places in North Dublin

I am in discussion with one or two employers in the Dublin area.
We have looked at house prices and have realised that North Dublin is more within our price range than South Dublin will ever be.

Anybody got any recommendations on best places to look for a house to purchase (and live in)?

Steve

Not in Dublin myself, but I do visit now and then from Co. Galway and know a few people who live there. Anywhere along the coast would be great and South Dublin is certainly not cheap.
I visited Bray & Greystones recently (loved it), maybe too far and also out of price range? North Dublin maybe Skerries?

Don't go to Skerries or Balbriggan. Both have BIG problems with gangs of immigrant youths terrorising the areas.
Malahide is the best place, followed by Portmarnock and/or Howth. Stay coastal, if you can afford it.

These problems are more in Malahide now and you would be closer to Swords (downside). It was last year https://www.thejournal.ie/hwoth-mala...36091-May2021/
Skerries seems like the better choice although anywhere with too many people wouldn't be my cup of tea.

I grew up in North Dublin and still have family there. The gangs of roaming youths would be more a problem in Balbriggan and would approach buying there with caution. I would say (depending on budget) Skerries is a great place to look, but Lusk/Swords are worth a shout. Lusk was a sleepy village but is now a small town with plenty of new houses being built. Swords has a lot of amenities in the town (The Pavilions is a great shopping centre) but suffers from bad traffic and I think is somewhat car dependent.

Is the problem with gangs of immigrant youths that bad? Where do they come from?

Both Skerries and Balbriggan are on the coast, so they are costal.

Howth is pretty expensive, as far as I know. Prices for houses are similar to the ones in London UK.
