I sent originals and copies of all documents. Except for bank statements, employer's letter and payslips which I sent originals.

I got all originals and copies back, they kept nothing.

I have also heard that when sending docs for the US, different rules seem to apply. I guess no-one wants to test the new rules about photocopies only being acceptable, and risk a 'refusal'.
