Re: SNS Experience

Here in Ourique, we have similar problems, making an appointment.

However, they have a system whereby you either turn up at 8.00 in the morning or ring at that time and you can - hopefully - get...

Re: First doctors appointment

You would have thought we had it, Red Eric, as some-one was supposed to sort all of that out for us when we first moved here.

But looking at our residençia cards, there is a x where the SS number...

Re: First doctors appointment

Well, no problem at all.

I don't have a social security number and wasn't made to pay for the appointment.

Maybe I'll wait until I hear something from an official source.

Re: Floor tile cleaning

We bought a Karcher SC2. Similar to a vacuum.

It doesn't scrub, just steam cleans the tiles. Use i twice a year and very happy with it.

Re: Lemsip

I just move to another bedroom, rather than smothering him - but love your advice Lorna.

Hot toddy, cheapo rubbish whiskey from Aldi, local honey, brown sugar and you forget all about the coughing...

Re: property insurance

It was Victoria.

But when we had a break-in, it was apparently, our fault, for not having net curtains on the windows and the shutter open, as the thieves could see what we had.

So swings and...

Re: property insurance

We have only claimed once and it was paid, no quibble and in the bank within a week.

We were quite surprised, as it really was an act of god, a storm of hailstones, torrential rain blocked the...

Re: Algarve locations

As the prices in the Algarve are now at silly price, why not look just a little further inland? We bought three acres, with a move in house for a lot less than we'd pay in the Algarve.

Just over...

Re: Batten down the hatches

We left the East Algarve at 9.30 this morning, and had no problem getting home. Looked ominous a few times, but once we were home, the heavens opened and we have tables and chairs blown over, had to...

Re: Covid Booster 2023

Looks like we'll be waiting for the phone call or text.

Not a chemist in Ourique is listed and only one in Castro Verde, which will, no doubt, already have a full list.

Re: how's your temperature?

Here near Ourique, we were very hot for a couple of days, hitting 40C. Yesterday was "only" 35C. The nights are cool, so the house is staying reasonably cool inside too.

According to IPMA, we...
