Hello all,
I was subject to a nasty road rage incident yesterday. A guy decided to use his car as a weapon when I was riding my bike.
Do you know which police I should report this to?
The GNR, Municpal polica or the standard (blue and white) polica?
Thanks everyone,
Julian

Thanks guys, for the help.
Yeah I'm fine thanks, but the guy was super aggressive and looked to be a bit of a gym bunny so maybe it was 'roid rage? Who knows, but I have witnesses to what happened so let's hope someone who's such a danger to other road users is preventing from doing this again.
Thanks again.

I find the the GNR takes assault seriously. Of course it will depend on the attitude of the particular office, and officer.
They like to have to monopoly on that sort of thing I guess.
If you have witnesses, then there is a case.
A neighbor of mine got beaten up by a well known area thug, he has several pending cases against him, but he knows how to play the system. He only does it when there's no one else around.
He tried it on me once... that's another story.

We were warned by our motor insurance company not to contest a claim against us (for an incident that didnt happen) as the claimant was 'high up' in the local police
We of course railed against this complete injustice and ignored the advice
And lost.
We paid and shrugged our shoulders.

As I was told by a veteran sergeant, "This is a business, if we don't meet our targets we get sanctioned...... and chasing down the gypsy who just damaged your car is a waste of time. Piles of paperwork for nothing because these guys will lie and be supported by their mates. You have comprehensive insurance, don't you?..... "
The pay isn't good enough to avoid back-handers, the "uncle" concept runs rampant and the young guys have nothing to do on their days off but embark on the same antisocial activities as their mates. It's amazing that anything gets done..... but most that does is to meet this month's targets from the commanders.

From: Abergele, Alges and Faro (boat)

Believe it. We had first hand experience of corruption. Our boat was hit on it's mooring by a ferry running between Faro and Praia de Faro, causing quite a bit of damage. NOT the company operating now. On reporting to Policia Maritima, local chief gave us a copy of their insurance certificate which turned out to be a forgery. They weren't insured, refused to admit liability and were allowed to keep operating.
A while later, a reporter from Correio de Manha got hold of the story and published it, only then did the police stop the ferry operation until they had insurance cover. Long trail led to bent insurance broker and someone very high up in the camara with financial interest in ferry company and connections to police.
