Re: What happened to this place?

Re: new to flying, could do with some help/advise

I am not winding you up at all. I am just surprised that you suggest AC would post something that is wrong for all of its passengers. What do you think happens for those coming through YYZ?

Yes, I always prefer to trust posters on the internet over official airline information.

Re: new to flying, could do with some help/advise

Erm....I have no idea when you would examine my bag but if coming on AC from LHR it will not be Toronto.

Re: Hamilton, Ontario

I have family who live near Gage Park and actually looked at a house in that area recently. I quite liked Ottawa Street. But not especially cheap. Depending where you are working also look at St...

Re: Property Searches

Bedford Park is north of Lawrence and around Avenue Road. Its very nice and very expensive! Houses in the $2 million and up region. Rent around 5K for a large family house. Unless a lot of $$ in the...

Re: Cost of living and where to live in Toronto

Well, the last few offer letters I have signed range from about 55 to 70. These also come with a decent benefit package. I would really suggest the OP look at teaching for a whole range of reasons.

Re: Cost of living and where to live in Toronto

I, of course, agree with Novo. It is low. Are you able to teach a couple of courses to supplement income? I can't speak to U of T but often post-docs become a part of the Faculty Association and can...

Re: 3 days in Toronto - where to look to get a sense of living there

I live at Yonge and Eglinton. Over summer I visited Medellin, it helped to remind me that there are attractive, culturally interesting places with nice buildings, great public spaces, amazing...

Re: Teaching in Toronto

True, but with the surplus of teachers many private schools both prefer and are easily able to hire those with OCT certification. The OCT process does not take that long, assuming you have all the...

Re: UK teacher qualifications in Canada

Good program. I might say York is better, but I am a little biased. I hope all goes well.

Re: UK teacher qualifications in Canada

The short answer is no, at least not without additional work. Prior to 2015 the answer would likely have been yes (though the two division/two subject aspect has always been an issue) but with the...

Re: Where to live.

Toronto does have great gigs, one of the things I really like about the place. In terms of old men punk bands I have seen Buzzcocks, PIL, Angelic Upstarts, UK Subs, Steve Ignorant and shortly The...

Re: Ontario College of Teachers

Regulation specifies "four semesters". Which may or may not mean two years. In that classic Canadian way obviously.
