I like the concept of mini-retirements, work for a few years then have a year off. Rinse and repeat! Not going to be for everyone though.

Presumably if you register for NIE then you are very much on the Spanish Government's radar when it comes to being tax resident, e.g. they may suspect you are staying over 183...

I am going to be based in Spain soon, probably in Valencia City. I have been planning on making the move for many years, but with the looming EU/Brexit happenings, I thought the sooner, the better....

So if you are like me and looking at emigrating to NZ in the future, but you are resigned to having to find a job to get a visa, then the student visa to post study work visa looks pretty viable.

I won't be on a visitor visa as I will have entered on a visa waiver which cannot be extended. I'd be applying...
