You can sit in the square in Orba (tiny) and there's a few obvious bars / tapas restaurants around, but it's local fair, not cava baja, Madrid style tapas, certainly edible but far from delicious....

In which case, if you haven't renounced your original citizenship surely you won't get a Spanish one? There is a process to renounce UK citizenship....

Sure, but as Spain dos not allow multiple citizenships the OP would need to give up their UK citizenship and any associated benefits. So it may work for some, but not for others.
