Re: HMRC self assessment paper form

Thanks. For all the great things about gov.uk it's a real let down that it's not explicit about this remarkably impactful change, preferring to let people hunt around aimlessly and eventually leading...

Re: Moving to Calgary from the UK

Darren, I moved to Calgary in 2017 in what seems like a very similar situation!
What worked for us was to live centrally for 6 months to figure things out "on the ground".
We spent time exploring...

Re: ITA proof of employment for dissolved company

Been thinking about this a little more. My wife, who is part of my application, is in a similar situation regarding difficulties with previous employers. Given that she is contributing no points to...

Re: ITA proof of employment for dissolved company

Heh! The first problem is finding out who the current owner is! This is actually what I've been trying do up until posting here. But I take your point about providing correspondence as evidence.

Re: ITA proof of employment for dissolved company

Wow, thanks for your fast reply. I appreciate it!

I'm pretty sure I stated that all my work history is relevant to my application, so I guess I need to include it.

As for evidence of...

ITA proof of employment for dissolved company

Hi all

Got my ITA (hooray) and like many here I'm now collating all the evidence I need to apply. Problem is, for at least one of my previous jobs that I've listed, the company no longer exists.

Re: Express entry, improving points

Congratulations! I had 439 points, then it was my birthday so it dropped to 429. Two days later came the latest draw with the threshold at 434! Talk about miffed... just hoping the downward trend...

Re: Ye Haaaa Just got my LMIA!!!!

Congratulations! Can I ask how long it took from your employer submitting the LMIA application to getting the approval? I have been waiting almost 3 months and I hope it's soon!

Thanks

Thanks for the encouragement :) The points for Canadian work experience is a good call although the bonus after a year's employment will be dramatically tempered by my age creeping up. I'm getting...

Re: Dual intent LMIA event flow

Thanks Snowy. I was tempted to rename the CIC column "the relevant body" or somesuch because in my mind CIC, ESDC, IRCC and WTF might as well be the same thing.

To be clear, by "visa exempt" do...

I'm annoyingly around 50 points shy then. I dream of that 600 point bonus an LMIA-supported job offer would bring!

Re: LMIA Confusion!

Can you elaborate on this? When I attended a webinar back in July 2015 the range of invitees' scores at that time was quoted as 453 to 886. What is it now?
