Having lived in Cornwall for eight years before moving to Mayo, I can tell you that you'll be absolutely fine. I've moved to a small town land of 10 houses and everyone has been amazingly friendly....

Cheers, that's reassured me as I was planning on using Smart Currency too. We don't have a BofI around here, so that will have to wait a while, or I can open an AIB account online if possible....

I'm hoping to do similar to you, but when I checked up about applying for a PPS, the application form asks for confirmation of address in Ireland, but I don't have one until I move and I can't move...
