Re: Warning HIFX charges

I recently completed my orders with HIFX and OZFOREX, both with no problems and no charges.

Re: Resale value of imported BMW

I can leave it with my Dad to sell, and I would expect buyers to resurface in January. I have been gradually dropping the price over the last few weeks, but the new low price coincides with...

Resale value of imported BMW

Has anyone managed to resell an imported car?
I've got a 1998 328i SE (E46) that I am struggling to sell before I leave in 10 days (something to do with it being christmas?). So I am thinking about...

Re: What Exchange Rate is offered??

I took a cautious approach - I'd be more upset about losing money than missing a gain. I might have taken the chance if the charts and indicators were pointing the right way.

Re: What Exchange Rate is offered??

OzForex publish the interbank rates on their website. If you are transferring the money immediately, you can do it yourself through the website when you are happy with the rate on offer (on £50k...

Re: How much does bringing a pommie cat cost?

That's a good price. I am £1150 + $400 (kenneling + local vets etc) for one cat. That's about £1400 - for a cat. And she's on meds for arthritis.

I'm mostly concerned about her getting bitten...

Re: Warning HIFX charges

I found HIFX rates weren't as good as OZFOREX. e.g. HIFX 2.370, OZFOREX 2.385. Makes a difference on big amounts. Wish I'd known that before I transferred the first 1/2 of my cash with HIFX. It...

Re: HIFX,how do they make money?

For forward trades, they don't just earn interest on the 10% deposit.
They also earn from the interest differential between the UK and OZ.

They buy your currency on the day you transact the...

Re: Stni

If you have enough point for a 136, then you should go that route in preference to a 137. The application process is the same, and since your wife already has her assessment there is no extra work...

Don't know where we are going to end up yet in Melbourne. We have only visited Melbourne for a few days in the past (we quite liked Pin Oak Court) so planning to do a LOT of...

Thumbs up !!!!!!!!!!!!! Got It !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Got the email this morning. 137 to Victoria!

Can't believe they now make you wait 3 days before you can send your passports off to London! I've got them in the office with me today - I want to...

Re: Is this legal?

Sound decidedly dodgy. Don't know whether it is illegal, probably not. If you are thinking of going this route, have a look at www.freespirit.com.au

Re: C O Officer

A CO was assigned to my 136 19 weeks and 1 day after acknowledgement.
Your meds and PCCs are only valid for one year, so it makes sense not to do them too early. My PCCs took about a month to come...

Re: What if DIMIA emails me and it was sent to Spam Folder?

Hi Francis,

1. Why not put immi.gov.au in your safe list?

2. Requests for progress reports will go unanswered

Paul.

Re: Time between Lodging and Med request

Yes, but bear in mind that they are only valid for one year (at best) from when they are taken. If you are applying for a 136 non-modl, I would wait a few months after your acknowledgment date...

Re: Do we all need to travel together to validate?

If I read your first post correctly, you are returning to travel with them and validate their visas. I don't think you need to be present for them to validate their visas, unless you want to be!
