The credit cards that Credit Karma are recommending are secured credit cards which is a probably a sign that my credit rating isn't at the right trajectory yet! Good point on the mix of accounts

Thanks for all the helpful responses. I think I'll use my 12 "sick days" for a mixture of days needed to look after our son and may also take the odd day off here and there so that I don't waste too...

I think I was led astray by the providers stating that they have no 'Annual Deductible' which led me to think there was $0 deductibles.

All of the providers do have annual OoP maximums of aprox...
