Re: L-2 visa application - do I require support of L-1 visa holder's company?

I am sure if you were going into where you are moving too looking for apartments etc you would be OK.

We were moving to NYC but vacationing in Florida and Vegas - was pretty obvious we were not...

Re: L-2 visa application - do I require support of L-1 visa holder's company?

After a few hours of sitting in a room with suspected terrorists and other idiots that had messed up their entry I was thinking I was going to be sent home on the next plane. Then a guy called me in...

Re: L-2 visa application - do I require support of L-1 visa holder's company?

My EAD took 90 days precisely.

I tried to activate my L2 a trip before we officially moved here as we had a pre-planned vacation but they wouldn't let me and made me enter on my previous ESTA...

Re: How to choose a realtor for buying a house

We kind of did something similar. We saw 3 lots of houses with 3 different agents - and made them aware we were going to visit with other agents in the first round to see who we preferred.

We were...

Re: Recommended bank accounts

That must have changed recently. When we moved they required 12 months and we had only had an Amex for 11 months so it was a no go.

Re: us citizen Divorce

You don't need to register the marriage in the UK - the treaty between the UK and US means a marriage in one country is valid in the other.

Re: Visa's approved. Thanks!

You know a lot of spouses of L1 visa holders!

I don't know anyone who came in on an L1 who needed biometrics - but everyone on an L2 who needed an EAD did have to go in.

As a side note - when...

Re: Hiring process duration?

I would try a Glassdoor search on the company to gauge what is normal for them.

I have had anything from less than a week to up to a few months.

Regardless of being offered or not or timescales...

We already own a house in...
