I have never used a Taxi in Hungary!!

It was the local village Police and we have a station in the village as well so they knew exactly where to go and talked my wife down calmly and patiently...

That is good info. I won`t need to apply until later in the year but I was hopefully anticipating a similar process as the original. Was there different options for the Residency to apply for?

Interesting. I am not there yet but I am now eligible for Hungarian citizenship, just not confident on the language testing as work has been a massive stress ball and haven't been keeping up with it....

I would be generally surprised if any garage eve accepted that. They barely agree to a test drive and if you ask for look at you as if you are stupid.

Well, the card hasn't made it. So off to the airport on Tuesday morning and see what happens! I am sure that with the Letter (even in Hungarian) and my biometric Hungarian ID Card plus address card...

I have the residency sorted years ago. It is just the physical card (replacement for a lost one) might not make it in time for when I would ned to travel. I have a letter to confirm it is applied for...
