Re: What is the positive in returning to UK

Novocastrian.

You asked me about my personal reasons.
I explained my personal reasons and then you mock me.

Good night.

Good evening Novocastrian.

Re: What is the positive in returning to UK

This has nothing to do with my love/hate of Ontario.
It has everything to do with a change in my life (the golden years so to speak) and making life "exciting" again.

I accept the "slightly unusual".
Yes, I left as a baby 58 years ago,.
Yes I have never applied for Canadian citizenship. (I do have personal reasons).
Yes I wish to return to England and I will be...

Re: What is the positive in returning to UK

I like the comment about "warts and all".
No country is perfect and I expect issues.
But the "issues" will be different and I find that exciting.

Thank you for your comments.

Re: What is the positive in returning to UK

But that is the BIG issue.
I am versed in architectural / construction methods in Ontario and have a good working knowledge of the Ontario Building Code.

That does not transfer to England which...

Re: What is the positive in returning to UK

It was St. George's cross.

Why the urge ?
In a simple statement... a change is as good as a holiday.

I have been self-employed for 25 years and work 24/7/365.
Every day is a challenge which...

Re: What is the positive in returning to UK

Hi not2lod,

I have Eton or Oxford as a first choice but all options would be on the table.

Age may be a factor in finding employment.
Once over the pond, we would be starting at the bottom...

Re: What is the positive in returning to UK

I would not say it is a pipe-dream, but at the same time I do not have solid plans. I am seriously considering the move and have the wife at about 75% agreement with the move.

Re: What is the positive in returning to UK

No, I have not visited at all but this is why it would be a whole new experience for me. If anything, it would make life "exciting" even with it's pitfalls.

Re: What is the positive in returning to UK

Finance is my concern also.
I have been self-employed for about 25 years and am sure I would have a tough time now looking for employment at my age. That being said, if I could earn enough for food...

Re: What is the positive in returning to UK

While he was burning it he was mumbling something about the Royal Family.

He has now moved, for which I am grateful.

In my last post "England Calling" I seemed to attract a number of negative posts. I wish to flip the question to "What is the positive in returning to England ?"

Keep in mind that I have been in...

Re: England calling

Not2Old
I have read this post over and over again.

Your outlook on life is not my outlook on life.
Have a good day... I know I will.
