Re: A Couple of Questions re filing the I-130

Re: Highs and lows for 2 months

As a pensioner you are entitled to a free bus pass that covers the whole UK, no need to buy a day bus pass!

Re: A Couple of Questions re filing the I-130

Well it makes no bones to me if it takes 25 years for people to get US spouse visas or if they even abolish them. I just don't think someone could be mistaken in thinking if they are a USC and they...

Re: Lost X-ray CD

Re: A Couple of Questions re filing the I-130

It does seem daft though. If you get them to pay the fee upfront, then if they DON'T qualify at the time of the interview, it will be their fee they've wasted. Besides, I really doubt many people...

Re: X-Ray thingie at the airport

At least the Americans give you the option. In the UK, if you refuse the naked scanner you aren't allowed on the flight.

I actually had one when they were being trialed at Heathrow. The woman who...

Re: A Couple of Questions re filing the I-130

How come the ConOff can't just check it at the visa interview?

Re: Any tips applying for UK jobs when still in Canada?

Make sure it is obvious to employers, if using a foreign address, that you are legal to work in the UK, as this is a compulsory question on all job application forms. Maybe put "Nationality - British...

Re: Visa medical and old tattoos

Gosh, I never heard of this before! I know for Oz any tattoo and you have to have a Hepatitus test, but why HIV? I thought the USA did not care about HIV any more, and did not routinely test for it?...

Debate on why there is a petition stage for an Immigrant Visa

Oh right. That's quite puzzling then. I once asked on here why they have the 'petition' stage on the visa process at all (the UK has no equiv) and was told by an immigration lawyer that is was a kind...

Re: Spouse to ILR, general info

Re: does anyone actually not miss their family back home ? ;)

Slightly OT, but for those who've never done it, surprise visits rock! We had always planned to one day do a surprise visit to DH's family in Boston, but for DH's 40th in 2009, a couple of weeks...

Re: Spouse to ILR, general info

Well some people reckon Croydon is really rough, my DH is one of them! However I've never had a problem. I usually only go there shopping so am not there late at night, though I used to work P/T...
