My husband had his O1 interview at Belfast last march. The security, paperwork and fingerprinting parts took much longer than the actual interview, which only took about 5 min.

They asked him what...

Re: Relocation Costs Directly Paid - tax implications?

Apologies if what I said was incorrect or misleading. In my experience, our relocation expenses were not grossed up and we had additional tax to pay on them. The employer both paid directly and...

My husband has an O-1 visa, he is a scientist. We had our interview at Belfast in March last year.

I wouldn't worry about it too much, it took about 10 minutes. Take the full application with you,...

Re: Renting apartment/house when you first move over with no US credit?

My husband's employer provider a letter showing his income to secure our rental flat. We paid a deposit, but you would pay that in the UK for a rental property and it was less than 1 month rent, so...

Re: Finding H1B sponsor companies

Adam, it would be possible for you to come here as a spouse on a H-4 visa and change status if you could find a sponsor.

However you would first have to find a company willing to employ you and...

Re: Filing P85 Form

You've made it red (or at least it looks red to me) where it says do not fill in p85 if you need to fill in a tax return. You need to fill in a tax return if you have rental income.

P85 is...

Re: RFE response times - Any knowledge/Experience?

Probably not helpful, as we didn't get a RFE, but my husband's O-1 visa went through the California Service Centre last February with Premium processing and we got the approval within 10 days.

Just reread my post and realised it sounds like you cannot walk anywhere. You can, it's just less common here.

If you choose a house/apartment within a reasonable walking distance of where you...
