- if I get a H4 visa that means I'm not allowed to work - how to change it? Actually, I was hoping to spend this time...

nope, the job is not in IT. Also, what they said was more like "would you like to immigrate to the US and work for us" so it doesn't rule out the green card, does it? We'll see...
