Yes, the $2000 credit card was a virgin Atlantic one (I had a similar one in the UK) just remembered that they did call it an expat card, so that may have helped.

Similar thing happened to me with Bank of America. They closed my account and I had to reopen it using a US address. Didn't need to be permanent resident though.

In Nevada you are fine to take the test without SSN. You just sign a disclaimer to say you haven't got one.

I needed to take my test while waiting for SSN and got licence through before the SSN.

I managed to do it with Bank of America, but I had to give a US address for a day, then say I moved to UK, then updated when we finally arrived.
