Re: BBQ Surprise

I don't think that the 'color' of the water is very important if it hits you on the head  .

Re: ringing the embassy

Hi Tanja,

Are you sure about those three months. The usual notice period in the Netherlands is only one month.

Smile Re: RPL - Required Info & Processing...rejected?

I took the RPL route one year ago. I probably would not have had a sucessful assessment without the help of George Lombard. (BTW, George's fee is very reasonable)

At last, .... the yellow envelope has landed

Our yellow envelope has arrived, the PR visa has been granted.

The name of our son is slighlty misspelled in the grand letter, I hope that won't cause any problems when collecting the evidence...

Re: Is SIR worth applying ?

Why not get 20 points for English language? It's not that difficult (you can always get extra training if necessary) and it will get you a PR visa.

Re: Just had chest X-rays......

We were asked to bring our morning urine (doctors like this best for some reason). It's only needed to test it for sugar and protein. Most doctors want you to pee 'on-site' to make sure that you...

Re: Translating documents

We used the service of a NAATI translator located in Amsterdam. Very efficient and not too expensive.

Re: Does a drink driving charge count as bad character???

Drink driving does count as (very) bad character where I come from. It seems that most people on this forum tend to ignore the offence when the convict wants to move to Oz.

Re: What Could be the Logic Behind Visa Delays? Kindly Advise Alan, Steve, JAJ, George

They seem to have reached their 2003-2004 taget. Seems logical that they put our applications on hold till the new year starts. Be patient, it's only two weeks till the new year starts.

Re: Photo on medicals form

Hi Ozzie04,

Photos stapled with DIMIA stamps all over them. The photos were taken at the photo shop with a polaroid camera, so no negatives available.

Photo on medicals form

Hi,

We had our x-rays done last week and used form 160 obtained from the local panel doctor.

A few days ago we received the DIMIA request for medicals and PCC. The request contains both...

Re: ACS Response

I don't think that DIMIA will settle for an email as the 'officical proof' of your skills. Untill all these things like digital signatures have become a commodity you'll still need the good old paper...

Medicals and PCC requested

Our first yellow envelope has landed today, PCC and medicals request for the 4 of us (and the envelope is really yellow).

We sent the application on November 15. Seems that DIMIA is still on...

Re: Blown a FUSE

Why do you think that a 15A pug does not fit in a 10A wall outlet ???

Having wall outlets in your bathroom is not unsafe. As long as they aren't too close to the 'wet zone'. The size of...

The only people that are afraid of a fire caused by the electrical system seem to be the Brits.

June rush at the ASPC

Last month people were talking about the so called June rush. At austimeline.com some applications seemed to be processed very quickly.

I don't see any signs of a June rush at this moment. Is the...

Re: Changes Police Checks the Netherlands

The only thing that matters is the PCC. I don't think that anyone in Berlin would be upset if you have your VOG application form signed by someone from the The Hague staff.

I think you should let...

I think offshoring will be the future for software coding. Coding and testing tasks (and some detailed technical design tasks) will be offshored to India (and probably China in the next decade).

I have never heard that a low blood pressure on itself is hazardous (it's only...

Re: Seems like its time for September 03 applications

Let's hope that November applications will be processed very, very, very soon. I'm close to a nervous breakdown waiting for the evelope (and I don't care if it's yellow, brown, pink or orange)
