Victoria is the hardest to get a license in (soooo bloody anal about it here). I would have a chat to ESV about it, check there requirements for the "L" grade. That at least allows you to work.

IMO it appears that doing the right thing gets you penalised, once you get here it just seems to be a money sink hole.

Just came back from ESV with a nice piece of silver coloured plastic saying A Grade. All the messing around with vetassess is finally over :D

Avoid the vetassess route if possible. I went vetassess in victoria and its a royal pain in the ass.

A mate gave me the pdf's. Took the pdf's on a usb stick to officeworks and they printed the lot off all spiral bound. Cant remember the exact price but i think it was around $70 for the lot.

So in a nutshell if your new in Melbourne
1: get a construction white card (fulfils oh&s)
2: LET & LEP (let 1st as it helps with the lep) turn those X's into ticks
3: Gap training at Kangan...

Ok then here goes the story so far :). I arrived in Melbourne in June 2011, and after a couple of days went to ESV and got my L grade licence. About 3 weeks later I got a job installing smart meters...
