We are gonna sublet for a couple of months right next to wellesly subway then an option to take on the new lease. its 1900 all utillities inclusive - yes expensive but I come form SE London so not so...

We viewed the property and the area and it was a bit rough - reminded me of home lol - the apartment wasn't too sad to be honest, but wasn't that fussed on the area and felt it was too expensive -...

Anyone know what this area is like, its right near the subway? 2 bed apartment for $1750, utilities are between $80 -$120 a month - does that sound accurate?

Thank-you for all this people. I'm headed over on June 28th - less the two weeks!!!!. The plan originally was to just get a low paid job ie Starbucks ect and have some fun for a year - maybe two.

Yeah sorry I am coming over on my first IEC, I was thinking like a free work trial - nothing dodgy! I have a digital portfolio of my work, great references ect.

I would rather work free for a few...

Thanks for all the feedback. We'll definatly be aware of scams, I think coming from a big city helps we'll try and have our wits abouts us. We know it wont be cheaper - we just want a change of scene...

wow 12 months rent! If i was just on my own then it would be easier I guess, lots of rooms out there, its becuase we want to rent on our own - 2 beds. Well we'll just have to see how it goes, people...

He was aware he had to re-train - is that not the same thing? I think he hoped to retrain on the job or some sort of course - he did make some calls. I shall pass this info and link on - thank you.
