Re: My IR-1 Visa Journey: Costs & Timescales

Quick question - Inbound Immigrant Insurance, works for US spouse?

Should have sorted this sooner, but I stupidly assumed we could sign up through the ACA before actually arriving - sounds like this isn't the case. So we're looking at temporary insurance for a few...

Re: Budget flights - which airline for check-in and baggage allowance?

Yeah, both sites flagged up with significantly bad reviews when I googled a bit further, so we ended up going through Expedia which we've had good experiences in the past. All booked and paid for...

Budget flights - which airline for check-in and baggage allowance?

We are trying to book our flights tonight, and found very affordable tickets on a couple of different sites - but it's confusing as both sites list the flight as a Virgin flight operated by Delta.

Another interview experience - DCF London

We are approved! :D

I thought I'd add our experience as I've found it very helpful to read the variety that's available on the forum from other users.

Our appointment was for 8:00, and our goal...

Re: Embassy's courier service

That link on the letter still doesn't work on any browser I've tried. Thanks for the correct link, Rene.

Couple of questions:

First, we've just registered with the courier for Thursday's...

Re: Document list for IR-1 interview in London

Just checking, were you applying for a K-1 visa? Our interview letter says only fiancé visa applicants pay ahead of time, and we are instructed to pay at the embassy. As my husband is applying for a...

Re: Contracting in US for UK employer

Today my husband was brought into a meeting with his manager and asked if he would consider staying on the UK payroll until the end of the year working remotely from the US. Apparently they do this...

With our interview now less than I week away, I believe we have finally gotten all the documents together, organised, and photocopied. I would greatly appreciate some feedback on this, is there...

Re: Needed from Joint Sponsor? Got LND Number (Yay).

Just reading the I-864 instructions yet again, and having a heart attack... I missed the part where joint sponsors need to provide proof of citizenship too. Is a photocopy of their birth certificate...

Re: I am the USC, am I immigrating?

I can't find the older thread where I saw this previously (I had the same question), but it's been confirmed that US citizens do not immigrate to the US, they are simply returning to their country of...

Re: I-864 and tax return copies

I've found form SSA-7050, but at this point even that will take too long to arrive - and it's expensive! Sounds like you can't get uncertified printouts as of this past April, that would have been...

Re: I-864 & Re-establishing domicile in USA?

Re: I-864 and tax return copies

Ah that's a big relief, thanks Ian. We do have all the extra photocopies for the joint sponsor, and I have proof I filed the last three years, so all should be good. :)

I-864 and tax return copies

On reading other threads, I have noticed that people are recommending 3 years' tax return copies/transcripts even though the I-864 instructions only require the most recent year. Apparently this is...
