Oh, sounds like I will need the HSBC Expat account then. I have just setup at wise account - all very easy. Hope I can setup Direct Debits to pay the class 2 contributions

Saga came back with something more reasonable at around £1000. She currently has an infection and I think that’s pushing the prices up, expect it may drop a little once the infection is cleared...

Thanks, useful to know they cap the payments. In the mean time we carry on paying.
Contracted Out - Nope, we never got caught up in that one.

I paid NI in the UK for 20+ years and have now been paying the Class II contributions for 6+ years while we have lived in the US.

At what point can we (or should we stop paying them)?

The SSA system will not give an estimate until you have 40 credits, which we are a couple of years from. Using the link shared above I now have an estimate of SSA - thanks!

Now need to take WEP...

We are considering retiring in the next 10 years and currently trying to work out how much Social Security will pay us.

We will have worked in the US for ~14 years by then so will have 40+ credits...
