What happened to Townsville? Cairns doesn't have much going for it atm, it's primarily tourism based and it's construction industry reflects that.

No, I wouldn't advise anyone against a Commodore or Falcon. Reliability and manage really good fuel economy the newer models. Great value for money.

I drive a '09 turbo diesel Caliber, very cheap to run and hasn't given me any grief, I paid around $11,500 with 40,000km's.

However, if you're looking for reliability then you can definitely pick...

Have you tried Coffs Harbour? I'm not entirely sure what's involved with being a chippy (brick layer) however I do no that the State and Federal government committed funds to build dual carriageway...
