Re: non-resident wishing to register a UK car in ES

Re: non-resident wishing to register a UK car in ES

I don't know anything about importing a car, but as for non resident ownership of a Spanish registered car:

We are non resident and not on the Padron. We bought a 2nd hand Spanish registered car...

Re: English speaking fitness classes in Valencia

I've done Zumba, step, and Zumba Gold over many year in various locations both in Spain and the UK. In my experience it's the norm to just follow the instructor; I've never been to a class where...

Problems - La Renta Modelo 210

I'm just trying to complete the form for last year's (2018) fictional rental income.. Has the system changed? I've done it for 2016 and 2017 with no problems, but this time after completing the form...

Before we all get our knickers in a twist:

I believe Notdunroamin was commenting on the OP (DOWNANDOUT)'s posts.

Re: Tenant Eviction Nightmare

The courts should certainly punish wrong-doers, but they can only make legal judgments, not moral ones. Your solicitors based their case on him having no tenancy, but it appears that he did, based...

Re: Tenant Eviction Nightmare

I know you are very, very angry, and I have a lot of sympathy for you, but I think if you break it down and lay the responsibility where it properly lies, you might feel a little better about it all....

Re: Legal Timing

We are currently part timers, but next month (for all sorts of reasons) we're going out for a whole year, after which we'll revert to part time. My research suggests it's just not possible for us to...

Re: Retiring to the Canaries

PS. In answer to your other queries:

Rent first is the sensible option. (We bought, but we had already visited many parts of Spain over 30 years, and had been spending holidays in Peniscola...

Re: Retiring to the Canaries

I know EXACTLY what you mean about UK winters. I used to say I didn't want to spend my retirement "stuck indoors hugging the fire for 6 months of the year".

However, my experience of Spain so...

Re: Moving to Spain, Huercal Overa

Very informative Notdunroamin, thanks.

Just to reiterate the importance of research, research, research: Our car was sold as to us having a tow bar, an important feature for us. As a result...

Re: Moving to Spain with caravan

You will find "people saying different things" on the web, because pretty much everything in Spain depends on what part of Spain you're in. My experiences of bureaucracy in the Castellon region of...

Re: Post re-direction, Britain to Spain, advice needed

I would also second what HeikeundAlan said.

Re: Post re-direction, Britain to Spain, advice needed

We also have no postal service, and so far we have used the Lista de Correos service successfully - but only for parcels so far.

Re: Moving to Spain, Huercal Overa

Personally, I think that's the best idea. Have a look around and see what you could get for your old car in Spain, perhaps by part exchanging it with the dealer - bearing in mind that there are...

Do they have the papers? Ask to see the Permiso de circulacion, the ITV and the receipt for the road tax. Ask them how they will deal with the registration at Trafico.

Re: Moving to Spain, Huercal Overa

You would have to make those financial checks on the car even if you bought in Spain. It MIGHT be possible to organise that from the UK using an agent/gestor.

HOWEVER, it's correct that the...

Re: Moving to Spain, Huercal Overa

That sounds like a good deal to me, Rigsby, based on our experience. And you can communicate with the dealer in English, which would have been another plus for us. My Spanish is OK, but this chap...

Re: Moving to Spain, Huercal Overa

The bureaucracy involved in buying a car in Spain is more complex that in the UK (where all you do is sign a bit of the V5 and send it off), but if you buy from a dealer they will do all the work for...

Re: Where not?
