Using a Wise account to pay for NI overseas is convenient. You need to open a Wise account with the British currency and pay for your NI. It is cheaper than wiring the money to the Revenue Customs...

I opened a Wise (a UK bank) account in Canada with UK currency and added the UK funding currency from my Canadian bank. Then I used the Wise UK currency account to pay the NI class 2 yearly.

I contacted HM Revenue and Customs and they told me the deadline 5 April 2023 is the date for the application received on/before that date but not the date for the payment.
