I wish I had your confidence Bevs!

Yes, I would be interested to have the agent's details, good point!

Re: About to have ITA rejected - any point to trying an immigration advisor?

That's our reading of it too, but CO disagrees.

absolutely no way they'd do that. Squeaky clean organisation.

Re: School fees in new zealand

Sorry, I wasn't clear in my question - I understand that you pay in NZ for healthcare and the not-so-voluntary school donations but I'd read somewhere that if your visa was for longer than 2 years...

Re: About to have ITA rejected - any point to trying an immigration advisor?

I had thought this myself but then thought that maybe I was being paranoid. I don't know why they've taken against us. We've only had 2 phone convs with them and hubby is as mild-mannered and as...

Re: School fees in new zealand

We're currently considering a 3 yr temp work visa to get us going while we argue the PR thing - I read on a thread somewhere here that if your visa was over 2 years, you get domestic healthcare and...

Re: Russia - Siberia- Ask Vanya!

Most of the time they will have boiled it properly, Petersburgers know what their water's like! But you can always use bottled water for tea in your room if you have an electric kettle there.

Try...

Re: Oh I really miss !!!!!!

Can understand that! When we were in NZ a few months ago I was appalled at the cost of books, especially kids' books. Assuming we eventually get a visa, my pre-emigration shopping is going to include...

Re: Russia - Siberia- Ask Vanya!

I've lived in St Petersburg (as well as in Moscow and Yaroslavl) and the water in Petersburg is definitely not safe to drink. It habitually carries giardia as well as sometimes nastier things (the...

Re: About to have ITA rejected - any point to trying an immigration advisor?

Seems rough. However our quals are on the exempt list, we're not required to reregister and an NZQA assessment was not on the list of document requirements they sent us with the EOI. So I still think...

Re: About to have ITA rejected - any point to trying an immigration advisor?

Mind if I ask why? I thought if your qual was on the list (and hubby's and mine are on the list, very specifically for the institution, the year and the quals - an exact match) that exempted you from...

Re: About to have ITA rejected - any point to trying an immigration advisor?

Any queries on why they are saying what they're saying is met with the response that they don't explain it as they're not immigration consultants. It seems a pretty hostile and brick wall kind of...

Re: About to have ITA rejected - any point to trying an immigration advisor?

Thanks for the recommendations, I really appreciate them as the last thing I want to do is waste our money on someone who just does formfilling. I'd feel very awkward about going to the head of...

Re: About to have ITA rejected - any point to trying an immigration advisor?

Thank you both. The WTR rule seems particularly daft to me as an accountancy degree does not entitle you to work as an accountant - it's an accountancy qualification that lets you do that. The ICAEW...

About to have ITA rejected - any point to trying an immigration advisor?

We finally have contact from our case officer and it's depressing.

170 points, job offer paying nearly $200k and on the shortage list, both qualified accountants with 2 masters degrees each,...

Re: Backlog London - concerned about delay

Not a lot - we phoned again at the end of last week and were told we have finally been allocated a case officer (so that took 4 weeks from filing the ITA). We said we hadn't been notified of the case...

Re: Schools...the problem of a bright kid!

I went to an inner London state primary in the 70s when wacky education theories were rife and my dad was concerned when I came home one day with a note saying that my parents had to go for a...

Re: Don't know if I can stay sane!

Good luck.

BTW, what they said to you about the visitor's visa is the same as they warned us when we filed the ITA. Others seem to have done it though- but maybe it's a recent change.

Re: worried about emigrating

The sad thing is that you do get people who trash their kid's education on a whim. I had a friend who was born in Oz of Brit parents and had been raised in Oz and then come to the UK when she left...

Re: Wales to NZ should we or shouldn't we??

Based on what you've written in the first post, I don't really see why you're considering emigrating and why NZ. The only reason that really seems to be there is weather and you can get that...
