Angry Don't know if I can stay sane!

Hi all

We have had quite a time of it recently. After submitting ITA with medicals and police certs and all documents we received a request for further info. We have provided all that was asked of us (involving lots of extra work and cost, but ok).
I have been referred to med assessors due to only recently being diagnosed with type two diabetes. I am not medicated for it but take ramipril to regulate blood pressure. At medical, bloods, sugars and bp (120/70) was fine.
Yesterday my wife received passports back for herself and our seventeen year old ( work visa stamps, residence application in).
My wife is due to start work on 01 October but I don't know how long a decision about me will take. I see many posts about people traveling separate and being apart, but we never considered this may apply to us, and never planned for this.
I AM SOOOOO STRESSED RIGHT NOW!
Just needed to share, thanks for listening.
Ian

aahh Ian what a nightmare. Not sure of your situation as to housing in UK but could you possibly come out on a 6mths visitors visa when your wife and daughter come over, myself and the kids came over on this. and then fingers crossed that all is completed before the 6mths are up?
Once our application was approved we just had the case file transferred over to NZ Immigration, ours being Wellington, and they completed the visa stamps in the passports.

Have they actually told you the status of your personal application? Is it with the doc, with the CO, or what?

When we lodged our ITA, we were told that on no account would a visa be issued for the person with the job offer and the child separately to the adult without the job offer as they would assume that the adult who isn't starting work straight off would be the one accompanying/looking after the child. I know 17 is hardly a child but this still seems a bit odd.

I'd try not to worry until you know what the status of your own application is. Easier said than done, I know. Why don't you give them a call?

Thank you all for your kind words,
As my wife needs to start work in October we applied for residence visas first, through ITA, but Needed to apply for interim work visas as the start date is 1st October.
My status is dependent on the medical panel so says pending for both partnership based work and residence. My sons and wife's status are approved for work visa ( wife ), approved dependent child visitor (son), but both are still pending on residence visa.
Thanks

Ian & tina

hi ian,
Its all very stressful and can imagine how you are feeling right now.
Im sure everything will be ok, - they look into everything that is not within normal limits.
Once they investigate it further and realise that its all controlled and you are not going to cost their health system a fortune!!
We are going through the same at the moment - hubbys x ray was not right, so that is going to delay us too! - i was supposed to start work in christchurch on the 3rd sept!! luckily they are holding the position for me.
keep us informed. as i dont know either, how long these things take.

sorry son, don't know why I though it was a daughter.
both mine and my daughters medicals were referred took just over a week to come back for my daughters, she has CVS but had been signed off from the consultant so we had sent in her sigh off letter, mine was because they said there was a mass on my lung from their xray. on hearing this obviously very distressed as the panel Dr had told us if anything showed up that he would inform us but he did not, I had my own GP organise xrays and they were clear so was ready for an argument but none came and 2 weeks later mine medicals were back all clear.

Mrs F, i wonder if they got your xray mixed up with someone elses, to be told you got a mass on your lung, to then having another xray that was clear, then 'no argument' - i bet you were a bit angry with them.

was to shocked to be angry and my GP was fantastic. when I explained she organised another xray there and then and it was all cleared up within the day of me seeing her. There was a calcified nodule, not something you could cause a mass, so think CO explanation was a bit over zealous and the referral team obviously saw it as nodule and cleared me so no need to get stroppy with them.

Hi all

Well things havent got any better.
After all that's happened I have received feedback from our caseworker that the med panel doctor wants an echo graph done for me as I apparently have an enlarged heart! News to me. Got booking with cardio specialist next Friday.
This appointment is with the same specialist we had to use when my wife received a request from our London case worker for a GP report on the heart murmur the medmigration doc reported on. This was very distressing as she never knew she had a murmur, and neither did our GP. After an echocardiograph was done the cardiologist report stated that it was an innocent murder, did not need treatment or follow up. London immigration accepted the report and thus my wife's medical was not referred to NZ. In my wife's case, as scary a time as it was, it was a relief to know she did not have heart valve problems.
Well I'll keep you posted as to whether or not this big hearted Yorkshireman can ever get into NZ.
Regards
Ian

ian, im sure you will get there, it seems like your lives are put on hold and every day waiting seems like a month, and then all we seem to be doing at the moment is WAITING! know how you are feeling, and am sure that it will work out right.
Where abouts in NZ are you hoping to go to?
We are going to Christchurch.

Hi Skends

Tina is due to commence her new post at Middlemore Hospital, South Auckland, on 1st October.
Time is really tight now and we need to make some decisions!

Hi Ian

You have my sympathies - it's a very stressful time with all the uncertainty.

Could the start date be negotiated if you got closer to the time and your medical issues weren't cleared up, I wonder?

My husband's employers requested start date: 9th June.
Actual start date: 3rd September!

This was due to shortly after receiving our visas, my husband fell off his bike and punctured his lung and couldn't fly for 6 weeks. (This after having his medical referred due to a previous punctured lung falling of his bike - bit of a wally my husband).

We toyed with putting off the employers by blaming immigration but in the end we came clean and their kindly response was "get better you daft bugger and then get yourself over here!"

I joke now, but it was a very stressful time waiting for the all clear to fly, booking our flights that night and flying to our new lives 2 days later.

Things do have a way of working themselves out, Ian. I'm sitting in NZ with a glass of wine, listening to the ferocious rain. At one stage I never thought we'd get here!

Best of luck to you,
HeatherGirl

Hi
Well crunch time is coming!
My appointment for Friday has been changed because the earliest time I can get an Echocardio done is Monday at 1pm. The cardiologist will see me straight after and prepare report. Immigration say they will process immediately if all is OK.
I SO HOPE ALL IS OK, we could be travelling next weekend.
Ps.We asked if we could travel on visitor visa, but as it is clear it would be my intention to stay for longer than twelve months, nothing could be done now but wait for the final thing requested.
Thanks again all for your kind words. The biggest thanks to my wife Tina. My soulmate. X
