Re: Living in Denmark, kids and paperwork

What I'm taking away from all this is "Yes, it would be easier to just fly back to the US to give birth then sort out a passport and go back to Denmark after"

Re: Living in Denmark, kids and paperwork

That makes no sense whatsoever. My being English doesn't negate my husband's being American.

I was born and raised in the UK and am a UK citizen. Lived in the UK for about 25 years, US for about 1...

Re: Living in Denmark, kids and paperwork

Living in Denmark, kids and paperwork

Hi there! I'm originally English, joining from the Moving to the USA section after marrying an American and currently living in the US but moving to Denmark very shortly for a few years.

It's a...

Re: Freestaters? (NH)

It's not the distance as much as the time it would take - there's car-sharing going on right now between me and my OH anyway but also the household (usually 4 drivers and 3 cars) are a car down...

Re: Freestaters? (NH)

Unfortunately, I don't drink and pretty much any groups I've found so far have been pub/bar meetings, even so Boston is a bit far for me - thanks though.

Exeter is only about half an hour though...

Re: Who is from Yorkshire?

I'm pretty sure my OH said the same thing when I mentioned toad in the hole actually. Trying to find proper sausages over here is like trying to find unicorns. It is possible though - a nearby...

Freestaters? (NH)

I've just moved to the Free State of New Hampshire with my husband who is actually from here. If you don't count my OH's friends, I have no friends here and we live in the middle of No Where which...

Re: Who is from Yorkshire?

Born and raised in Leeds, spent a small amount of my childhood in Wakey then spent the last year in York - now living on the East Coast. Sadly, not Maine where I could have moved to Yorkshire, York,...

Re: Moving to US...the actual moving bit

We should be leaving the end of this month so I now have a much better idea of what's what.

At present, we have 4 large and 1 small-ish suitcase going with us (plus 1 hand luggage each) as the...

Re: Moving to US...the actual moving bit

I agree it would be convenient for the most part, the part that doesn't appeal is the possibility of having to wait weeks or months for the stuff to arrive.
This is why I'm considering extra...

Re: Moving to US...the actual moving bit

Most likely Manchester or possibly Liverpool. The only direct flights I've found to Boston in the 2 years we were LDR are from places further afield (London) and it's not worth the travel to get...

Re: Moving to US...the actual moving bit

Seen some really useful stuff in here (some not so much but it's all given me some more to think about).

We definitely won't be taking any furniture apart from the flat packable toy box which will...

Moving to US...the actual moving bit

Hi peeps!
I know it's been a while since I posted but I have a new set of questions so popped back up again.
I got my cat to the US, sadly she died a few weeks later from a genetic liver condition...

Re: Moving a cat from the UK to USA

Thankyou everyone. What upsets me the most is that I wasn't there to say goodbye and hold her as she left the world but at least my husband and mother in law were with her.

She'll probably be...

Re: Moving a cat from the UK to USA

After all we went through, Ozzy is no longer with us. She had a liver condition that no-one could have know about or done anything to help. My husband rushed her to the vet on Wednesday night but...

Re: Anyone know anything about Leave to Remove Orders?

No issue on the train then at the airport, the agent at the desk said she had to ring her supervisor to let them know we'd turned up with the cat (they knew she was booked...

Re: Moving a cat from the UK to USA

No idea how hot the train will be so I'll do that anyway and stick a travel bottle full of water in my clear ziploc bag for her. Can always get some bottled on the plane for her if she runs out. It's...
