We moved last year with 2 year old twins to Oakland. I've been here 4 months and just starting to find things to do with the twins. Check out meet up. In Oakland there is a group called Oakland Moms....

The one thing that the airline do say is that if they think in anyway that the animal has been sedated then they will refuse travel

We moved to California in October 2011 with our 2 dogs. We didn't use a Pet Travel service and arranged everything ourselves. We booked with Virgin and were able to book a week before we travelled....
