Removal Recommendations UK->USA
(I tried to use the site-search before posting this, I know it's probably a common request, but I could not really get sensible results).
My father is moving from the North of England (Leeds) to Seattle.
We'd like to ship some things for him (half a dozen pieces of antique furniture, some china, pictures). We're not interesting in moving sofas/beds or anything else he can buy over in America.
I'd really appreciate any leads/recommendations/experience for movers before I start an internet troll myself.
Quality of shipping/packing is more important to us than the time it takes to get there.
Thanks for any responses.

We used Allied Pickfords for our move over here. They seemed really good.
Can't help you on prices though as ours was all done through my husbands company

Don't need to search, just look down a bit.
This was asked yesterday....and a couple days before that, again
Basically, going to need a half container or a full one? How much insurance etc, all factors in, so looking at from past threads anything from $2-10K.
Probably in the middle, especially if you've got specialist stuff being shipped.
Thing is, it's all down to who gets sub-contracted on the other end, so find that out when you get a quote and search them out on the moving scam website.

We just moved from York to Florida. We used Anglo pacific, they have been great, came and packed everything, took 7 weeks then they delivered and unpacked everything at this end. They also took the packaging away, they do part containers and you just pay for every sq ft you use. They have a base in Manchester so are quite close.

To the OP we used GB Liners (Leeds office) and I cannot praise them enough

Re: Removal Recommendations UK->USA
I am looking to share a container with someone in the June/July timeframe if possible. I was just quoted a small fortune from Anglo Pacific and I'm only shipping a small amount of stuff! We are selling and giving away most of our things and our shipment is about 350 cu ft. We would be moving from midlands area (Cheshire) to the import areas of Washington DC, Texas or California. I can do any of those import docks as I've friends/family in each to help get our goods to the final destination. I just can't fathom spending £5850 on 'stuff'! Thanks for any help or direction.

350 sq ft for 5850 seems odd, we just shipped 450sq ft fir 2700 including packing and un packing, insurance and an extra 300 pound to crate our glass table. Over 5k should get you the whole container. The shipping company usually finds people to fill the container it can just take a bit longer before it is dispatched. Double check the quote is for part container. If it is pull them up on the price. Might be because we shipped to Miami that it was cheaper but can't see that much difference.
